We started Westy Properties in response to increasing complexity within the city of Portland and Multnomah County relating to tenant regulations. Since 2012, we have been doing the hard work for our clients, so they don’t have too. Our team is committed to our community in Portland, Oregon.

  • The better condition your home is in, the better-quality tenant it will attract. At Westy we have a detailed new property checklist that helps to guide each individual through the essentials.

  • There are many factors in finding good tenant and managing a property. One myth is that charging more money up front (first, last, full month rent deposit, etc.) ensures a better tenant. At Westy we believe a complete screening process, market-based rents using quality process and appropriate deposits lead to good candidates and quality engagement leads to good tenants. We do not typically ask for a “last months” rent, and we typically ask for a reasonable deposit to expedite the turnover process while still protecting your investment.

  • Pet owners make up 70-75% of the people in the market for a rental house! Being open to allowing pets will make your property available to more potential renters. Additional deposits for pets generally run $250.00 to $500.00. Westy also typically charges a monthly pet rent and requires references for pets. Note: even a property that doesn’t allow pets is required to accept a service animal and in some cases emotional support animals without a deposit or additional rent.

  • We manage properties in the Portland metro and surrounding areas. We do not currently offer management in Washington State. We work in preferred neighborhoods based on our extensive experience and expertise in these communities, but also have properties all over Oregon we manage in special circumstances.
